Bonnie Richardson is a co-founder and managing partner of Folawn Alterman & Richardson LLP in Portland, Oregon.
Known as one of Oregon's leading lawyers for representing individuals and businesses against law firms for legal malpractice claims, Bonnie has proven her ability to relentlessly take on the largest and most powerful organizations in the state and succeed with decorum and the highest degree of professionalism.
Bonnie has been practicing law for 14 years with an exclusive focus on trial work. She has extensive experience in state and federal court, arbitrations and mediations. While resolving business disputes efficiently, she has represented clients on a multitude of cases including legal and professional malpractice, complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and trust litigation.
As a leader in business, Bonnie serves as an officer on the Board of Directors for the Multnomah Bar Association. She also serves her community as an active member of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association, as an international representative for AFS Intercultural Programs - a nonprofit organization for cultural exchange, and as a past Board Director of the nonprofit Dress for Success of Oregon. Annually, Bonnie devotes over 100 pro bono hours representing clients assigned by the Oregon Law Center and speaks for the Multnomah Bar Association and Oregon State Bar Continuing Legal Education seminars.
In 2011, Bonnie received the Portland Business Journal award recognition for Forty Under 40. In 2009, Bonnie also received the prestigious Multnomah Bar Association Pro Bono Award of Merit, recognizing her for exceptional legal services. Her commitment to justice was also acknowledged by the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association which featured Bonnie in the article "Making a Difference: Justice for Those in Need."
Bonnie grew up in Oklahoma where she graduated with her J.D. in 1997 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In law school, Bonnie was the recipient of the John B. Cheadle Scholarship, the 1997 Professional Responsibility Award and the distinguished Golden Gavel Award for the overall outstanding graduating law student.
